Reaching the Unreached Tanzania (RUT) is a voluntary non-governmental organization (NGO) working to address sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) issues and promote access to justice for all in Tanzania through implementing results and evidence-based interventions with a focus on vulnerable and marginalized groups particularly women, children, Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW).
RUT is dedicated to protecting and promoting the dignity, well-being, and rights of marginalized groups particularly adolescent girls and young women (AGYW), women, and children. It is committed to improving such groups' social, economic, political, legal, and cultural status, defending their interests, and eradicating all forms of discrimination and violence against them.
RUT empowers women and young girls by providing access to microloans and stipends, entrepreneurship training, and financial literacy education.
RUT is committed to ensuring equitable access to quality education for all individuals, regardless of their background. Education is a fundamental right that opens doors for personal growth and community development.
RUT's primary objective is to enhance community sexual and reproductive health and well-being in Tanzania. RUT raises awareness about SRHR issues, provides essential SRH services, and promotes healthier lifestyles.
RUT promotes holistic ECD through community engagement, school feeding programmes, early learning, and caregiver education, ensuring children develop health, nutrition, responsive caregiving, safety, and learning readiness
RUT is dedicated to advancing the rights of women and girls, particularly in the context of gender-based violence. RUT informs women about their rights and offers support through rehabilitation programs, placing empowerment at the core of its mission.
Recognizing the vital connection between a healthy environment and human well-being. RUT aims to increase community understanding and appreciation of nature, encouraging active participation in environmental conservation.
These strategies collectively enable RUT to create positive, lasting changes in the lives of individuals and communities in Tanzania, promoting empowerment, justice, education, access to healthcare, and environmental sustainability.
RUT advocates policy change, monitors programs with data, collaborates with stakeholders, ensures accountability, raises awareness, and drives effective, community-led impact.
RUT engages communities, builds partnerships, raises awareness, promotes inclusivity and shared responsibility, empowering local ownership for sustainable, community-driven change.
RUT supports vulnerable individuals with essential services legal aid, sanitary pads, microloans, education materials, and contraceptives addressing immediate needs.
RUT enhances capacity, governance, financial management, M&E, partnerships, and planning to improve effectiveness, build stakeholder trust, and ensure sustainable support for marginalized communities.
RUT strengthens beneficiaries’ capacity to exercise rights, ensuring the law is accessible, practical, and meaningful beyond courts for individuals and communities.
RUT uses behavioral science–based communication to transform negative knowledge, attitudes, and norms into positive change.
RUT engages citizens as key beneficiaries, strengthening their participation in monitoring and overseeing systems to promote a healthy, just society.
RUT empowers communities through training, skills development, and knowledge sharing, strengthening livelihoods, leadership, advocacy, and technical abilities for self-reliance and sustainable impact.
