Who We Are
RUT is devoted and committed to improve sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and promoting access to justice in Tanzania with focus on marginalized and priority population.
We Strive to Improve Sexual and Reproductive Health and Promoting Access to Justice
We impact the lives of people in various fields, here are the thematic areas we significantly throw our focus:
RUT targets beneficiaries in the society including individual community members and groups/ community-based organizations. The beneficiaries are reached and provided with the right education that capacitates them to firstly to recognise their responsibility in planning and managing their own lives, secondly to identify their needs and find ways to address them. This translates into household and community taking responsibility, reporting and holding themselves accountable but also their leaders.
RUT is committed to operate and work under evidence based approaches. We focus on generating new knowledge and finding facts that support in designing our programs. We believe that research is an essential tool that enables us to plan strategically, campaign with integrity, design and learn lessons from our operations. On the other hand we use the facts generated from researches to designing, planning and implementing advocacy strategies and campaigns for the purpose of informing actions including policy making.
RUT strives to strengthen the technical capacity of its own staff, internal operational system and partner institutions. We believe that having successful project impacts depend much on the capacity of the people involved in the project implementation. Our focus areas of strengthening include Leadership Skills and Governance, Project Management, Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting, Financial Management and Human Resource Management.
“I thank this project (FGM Free Generation Project) because it has come to save my two daughters from getting circumcised. We had only remained with two days to take them to Ngariba for circumcision as our traditions requires all girls and women to undergo circumcision. Since I got training from RUT, I changed my mind and share the information with my husband and together we agreed to stop circumcising our children".
Habiba Said - Kondoa district resident
‘‘I`m thankful to this organization (RUT) as they have saved my family from poverty, and helped me to have access to nutritious food for my children”
Rosemary - Dodoma municipal resident
We can’t operate successfully without the support of other people. There are many ways to support RUT's activities. Your gift and involvement in our events, your donations, and your volunteerism helps ensure that RUT continue to address public health issues and promote justice for all. Any kind of support, directly enabling us to reach more marginalized and disadvantaged individuals.
